Cliff Konold is a research associate professor and the principal developer of TinkerPlots™,
directing both the software development effort at the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst, and overseeing the project as a whole. Cliff's
research focuses on informal understandings of probability and data
analysis and in applying this research to improving instruction. With
previous National Science Foundation funding, he developed curricula and
educational software for teaching probability and data analysis at the
high-school level.
Craig Miller is the senior software engineer for TinkerPlots at
the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He leads the development
effort with his expertise in user interface design, working with
researchers to create a finished product from rough ideas. Craig has
developed both professional-level data analysis tools (ADAPS: A Data
Analysis Package and Programming System) as well as application tools
for students (DataScope®, Prob Sim®). He
coauthored the interactive modeler for MetaCreations' award-winning
Infini-D animation package, and was an engineer for Power Thinking
Tools' multi-dimensional data analysis system.
