Utility Files
Following is a list of all DERIVE utility files with a short description of their contents. Use
the on-line help to obtain details. The files also provide good
examples of how to program in DERIVE.
- APPROX.MTH defines functions for finding Padé rational approximations.
- BESSEL.MTH defines functions for computing Bessel and Airy functions.
- DIF_APPS.MTH defines functions that use symbolic differentiation.
- ELLIPTIC.MTH defines functions for computing elliptic integrals.
- ENGLISH.MTH defines unit conversion factors for the English unit
system used in the United States.
- EXP_INT.MTH defines functions for computing exponential, log,
sine, and cosine integrals.
- FRESNEL.MTH defines functions for computing Fresnel integrals.
- GRAPHICS.MTH defines functions that aid in plotting space curves,
parametric surfaces, and complex-valued expressions.
- HYPERGEO.MTH defines functions for computing hypergeometric functions.
- INT_APPS.MTH defines functions that use symbolic integration.
- METRIC.MTH defines unit conversion factors for the metric unit
system.
- MISC.MTH defines miscellaneous utility functions.
- NUMBER.MTH defines functions useful for investigations in number
theory.
- NUMERIC.MTH defines functions for numeric differentiation and
integration.
- ODE_APPR.MTH defines functions for finding approximate solutions
of ordinary differential equations.
- ODE1.MTH defines functions for solving first-order ordinary differential
equations.
- ODE2.MTH defines functions for solving second-order ordinary differential
equations.
- ORTH_POL.MTH defines functions for computing orthogonal polynomials.
- PHYSICAL.MTH defines fundamental physical constants to high precision.
- PROBABIL.MTH defines the incomplete gamma function and its relatives.
It supplements the pre-defined probability functions.
- RECUREQN.MTH defines functions for solving recurrence equations.
- SOLVE.MTH defines functions for finding approximate real or complex
roots of nonlinear systems of simultaneous algebraic equations.
- SUPPORT.PAS defines functions in PASCAL for use with the PAS files
generated by the File:Write command.
- VECTOR.MTH defines functions that automate some of the operations
commonly performed on vectors and matrices. It supplements the
predefined vector and matrix functions.
- ZETA.MTH defines functions for approximating functions related
to the Riemann zeta function.
