Parameters
When a teacher is logged in Aplusix in the context of a class, s/he can access to the parameters of the class with the item “All the parameters” of the menu “Parameters”. This allows setting the parameters of the class. The parameters are identical for all the students of a class but different from a class to another one.
The “Verification” item concerns the way the calculations are verified in the Training mode. It can be set to “Choice of the student”, which means that the student will be able to set this parameter with the “Parameter” menu, or to “Permanent”, or to “On request” which means that the student will have to click on a button to obtain the verification, or with “2 verifications” or “4 verifications” which is like on request but with a limited number of verifications.
The “Scope” parameter allows to indicate whether the verification is done for all the steps or just the current one.
If “Correct reasoning” is checked, the student will not be authorised to make a new step from an incorrect one.
The “Calculations” panel precise the scope of the Calculation commands of Aplusix. The Calculation commands are accessible in the popup menu and allow the student to ask Aplusix to make calculations.
In the first figure, when asked by the student, only numerical calculations over integer and decimal numbers will be done by Aplusix.
In the second figure, when asked by the student, (1) numerical calculations over integer, decimal and rational numbers will be done by Aplusix, (2) Expansion and simplification of polynomial expressions will be will be done by Aplusix, (2) Factorisation of polynomial expressions of degree 1 will be will be done by Aplusix, (2) Resolution of first degree equation will be will be done by Aplusix,
“Random order” indicates whether the exercises of files have to be presented in the order of the file or in random order.
When “Invitation to comment” is checked, Aplusix opens the comment input window each time the student produce a new step to get a comment from him/her.
When “Access to solution” is checked, the student can ask for the solution (like” x=4 or x=6” for an equation) with the popup menu.
When “Backtrack” is not checked, the student cannot modify in the Test mode an exercises already finished.
“Duration of the tests” allows choosing the duration of the tests when exercises are chosen in The Map.
