Editing expressions

1. Examples of small expressions

 

 All the operators are displayed in their usual form (in two dimensions), like on the blackboard.

 

2. Basic editing

 

 Input is made with the usual keyboard or with the virtual keyboard. The Backspace and Delete key allows to delete parts of the expression. All these actions are executed in the usual form (in two dimensions).

 

3. Examples of complex expressions

 

 

Complex expressions, is the sense of combinations of operators, can be build.

 

4. Example of copy and paste

On the left, –1+3x is selected, then “copy” is performed with the popup menu. On the middle, y is selected, then “paste” is performed with the popup menu. The result is on the right: Aplusix has added parentheses

 

5. Example of drag and drop

On the left, 3x is selected by dragging over 3 and x with the mouse. Then the selection is caught and moved to the left. Aplusix uses a “+” to connect it to the left hand side. In order to change the sign of 3x, one has to type a minus sign.
