The different activities of Aplusix
Mary solves the exercise. She produces new steps when she wants and inputs new expressions. Aplusix indicates the correctness of the calculations: The double black arrows means “equivalent expressions” and the crossed red arrow means “non-equivalent expressions”.
Mary indicates she has finished solving the exercise. In this case, Aplusix disagrees because the solution is not simplified.
Mary solves an exercise in the Test mode. In this mode, Aplusix gives no feedback (neither the equivalence of the expressions, nor the correct end of the exercise).
At the end of the test, Mary can see her work in the Self-correction mode.
Mary enters in the Self-correction mode of the above exercise. She can see when her calculations are correct and where they are not. She can now correct her errors by clicking on the “Modify the exercise” button.
Mary has corrected her first error.
Mary can also see her past work in the Observation mode. Here, she cannot modify the exercises but, using the replay system, she can see action by action what she did.
This mode is also accessible by the teacher who can see what their students have done or are doing.
The replay system during the production of the first step shows that Mary chose to multiply both numerators with adequate coefficients before writing the common denominator.
